Daniel Risso: Rhythms from the Soul
Since I can remember, I’ve always collected very different kinds of music. I liked organizing it and storing it, keeping it available when someone told me they liked a particular song. Even as a child, I could see the power music has to influence people’s moods, and I was fascinated to discover how I could have an impact on that.
In my teenage years, I saved up for my first professional DJ equipment, which opened up new paths for me, both spiritually and professionally.
With that first set of equipment under my arm, I built my initial experience through underground rave parties, and from then on, gigs and opportunities started to come my way, allowing me to keep growing and developing.

Back in 1999, I entered a DJ competition organized by the Technics brand for national DJs who mixed vinyl. Winning was an incredible feeling, the final push I needed to keep fueling my passion for music. That victory opened the doors to two popular venues in Madrid (Capital and Bola 8), where I worked for a year.
When I returned to my hometown (those from Sevilla will understand that it's very hard to leave here for good), I started working at the Tribal terrace. In no time, I moved on to the Gaudí club, recommended by the previous venue. Then I continued at Queen club and its summer terrace, Priscila. After that came the Apeadero terrace, Sur 13, Gabana, Arraigo, and Apandau. By the time I was at these latter venues, I managed to form a team of DJs who shared the same philosophy about rhythm and melody. I led the team’s rotations to ensure everything went smoothly every night.
After that period, in the early 2000s, I was fortunate to spend some time with Manuel Triviño on Canal Sur Fiesta Radio, on the show Mundo Evasión, which gave my career a new boost. I had the opportunity to spend ten seasons as a resident DJ at the B3 club in Sevilla, which allowed me to gain vast knowledge and an extra touch of elegance, both in mixing music and in selecting it. I also had the pleasure of sharing the stage with world-class artists like Bob Sinclar, Carl Cox, and Armin van Buuren.
n recent years, I’ve continued my activity at venues like Look Sevilla summer club, Bavara, Lounge Bar 1977, Budha, Sidharta, and Puro Centro. At the same time, I’ve ventured into the world of music production, creating my own tracks. I also founded a DJ school, where I guide young people with a passion for music, and I run my own company, Rissound Event Agency, specializing in entertainment, sound, and lighting for weddings and corporate events.
Currently, I work frequently with the Bam Bam group at trendy venues like Kamikaze, Phi Phi, Cristalera, and Bliss. Outside of that group, I spend my summers as a resident DJ at El Dorado and Nikkei Beach in Playa El Palmar.
In this stage of my career as a DJ, I appreciate and value all styles of music, feeling that I’ve mastered them, which gives me an added advantage to adapt to a wide range of audiences and different environments. However, what excites me the most right now is electronic music, a field in which I’ve invested in my own music label, Tragedia Club.
Music will always be the freedom of the soul.
